We are looking for

Junior Researcher (f/m/d)

(full-time -  40 hours per week)


for our Behavior Research Program, starting 1 September 2025. In the Behavior Program, we combine theory from economics, political science, and psychology with innovative quantitative methodologies to study human behavior and policy interventions in fragile and transition contexts. The Junior Researcher will primarily contribute to the Program’s research on societal challenges in Kyrgyzstan drawing on new longitudinal data from our Life in Kyrgyzstan study.
Your responsibilities
  • Managing, matching and analyzing quantitative micro-level data;

  • Supporting literature review work;

  • Contributing to publications in leading academic journals; and

  • Supporting research projects with several partner organizations.

We think you’d be a great fit if you
  • Have an excellent Master’s degree in a social science;

  • Bring strong skills in statistical analysis in R, Stata, or similar software; 

  • Have gained experience working in and on fragile and transition settings; 

  • Have an open-minded and proactive approach to conducting research; and

  • Demonstrate excellent written and oral English-language skills (additional knowledge of Kyrgyz and/or Russian is desirable, but not necessary).
